It is primarily a motorboat and water-skiing lake, although sailboats are allowed the second full weekend each month, and every Tuesday and Thursday after 1:30 pm.



This retreat is only 10 miles from Bakersfield. This is a moderate loop trail in Kern River County Park. In recent years, Lake Ming has become one of the Bakersfields favorite outdoor destinations. There is a sign at the West Beach which marks the half mile road to the campground overlooking the Kern River.
